Discipline

Students will have a 'choice card' that remains with them throughout the day. This card will document positive and negative behaviors. This card will go home in their Friday folder.

Fourth grade will be implementing a 'token economy' that is directly related to the choice cards.

A 'token economy' is one where students earn or lose points as a reward or consequence for their behavior. Students will then be able to use their earnings to 'purchase' goodies for our end of the month reward movie.  Goodies will include a sprite, popcorn, and a candy.

At the end of the month students will earn a movie as a result of their monthly behavior.  This will be a full length fun movie, but it will be tied to our curriculum in some way.  Students that receive more than two marks on their movie ticket behavior card in any one week period will not participate in the movie.  They will go to another 4th grade teacher for an alternate activity.

Earnings or deductions (points and debits) will be explained to the students.

Once again, all of this is explained to the students so they have full understanding of the expectations.
